The 3rd Annual Puttenham Golf Club South Region PGA Pro Am had a full field of 23 teams as they tee'd off at 11am for a shotgun start on Thursday 21st September 2017.
The Pro Am's main sponsor Normandy Garage had put up a brand new Mitsubishi Mirage for a hole in one on the 176 yard par 3 18th hole. However, despite a few close calls with one attempt only finishing a few inches from the hole, no one managed to walk away with the keys.
The winning professional was Nico Els who shot a 1 under par round of 70 on what proved a tricky day, with a blustery breeze blowing that brought rain for the latter part of the round. Nico Els (pictured right) with John Richards (pictured left) Managing Director of Normandy Garage who presented the prizes.
With the help of his Pro Am team Nico also achieved the double as he lead his team of Peter Grant, Nick Arney (Men's Captain 2017) and Doug Giberson to victory with a team score of 14 under par.
This score pipped last years winning team of Colin Thody, Paul Bugdale and Jim Giberson on count back over the back nine holes.
The proceeds of the raffle, which raised over £600 went to The Saving Tiny Lives Appeal for the neonatal unit at Frimley Park Hospital which is the Men's Captains charity for his Captains year.
All in all and excellent day.
