Scratch Cup Weekend on Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd July is fast approaching when John Howard will be defending the trophy he won last year., and this year the weekend combines all of the clubs Scratch tournaments (Mens, Seniors, & Ladies).
Players will be grouped by sections within the whole field, and it is hoped that this will once again provide a special atmosphere for these prestigious competitions.
Please click on the link for the Start Sheet for the 1st Round.
The competition will be 36 holes of medal play, 18 holes on each day, with full handicap applying for the Handicap Trophies. In the event of ties, the results will be determined by count back over the last 18, 9, 6, 3 etc. holes according to the score card.
Play will be in three's. The leading scores in both the Scratch and the Handicap competitions after round one will be redrawn and will tee off in the last groups in round two. Leaderboards will be positioned in the Clubhouse to update competitors on the leading scores as the second round reaches its climax. Early starters are invited to spectate over the final holes to see the winners home.
By entering the competition players agree to cooperate with event stewards. This cooperation will include but is not limited to:
a) Providing access to their scorecard whilst they are waiting to tee off at selected holes.
b) Cooperating with roving scorers during the last 9 holes.
The cost of the event will be £22.00 payable on arrival on Saturday morning before play.
This price includes Scratch and Handicap prizes for both 18 hole rounds as well as the 36 hole combined scores for both competitions, coffee on arrival for each round and a BBQ on day two for all players, for which the dress code is smart casual wear. Players should make their own food arrangements after golf on day one, the normal Saturday snack service will be available from the caterers. The halfway hut will be open over both days as normal.
An optional two’s sweep costing £3.00 will be run over both days along with a raffle run by the pro shop.
I hope everyone has an enjoyable and successful weekend, and fingers crossed for some great weather.
